It was a place to stay.
Apon arriving, I had to authorize a $50 damage fee that they said I would get back within 2 business days along with the price of the room+tax. The man also kept helping people behind us before finishing our check in (at least 4 people). Arrive to the room and the smoke detector was hanging out of the wall (I’m glad there wasn’t a fire). On top of that, went to go take a shower and the knob to the hot water wasn’t attach. I nearly burnt my hand when I was trying to turn it off. When I was leaving, I informed them on the issues in the room. The man at the front desk dismissed them and said nothing more. I then checked my resent purchases to find that they pulled out the price of the room without tax AND the price of the room+tax. Together, that was a lot more than what was originally suppose to be. I went back to inform the man and all I received was a sarcastic “I’m sorry” and no answer to why so much was taken out of my account. If this hotel is going to require a damage fee, then they not definitely need to make sure the room are not already damaged and get some decent help at the front counter! They need to be clear on how much will be deducted from the customers bank account so it not a shock. I’ve been to a lot of hotels here in Mobile and this was by far the worst one! Waste of money and my time for sure.
The bathroom was nice looks to have been remodeled recently except it took the bathtub about 15 min to drain, the bd was comfortable and comforter very nice
Room carpet smell sour at doorway, pubic hair foundin the bath tub-no housekeeping (we stayed 3 nights) no fresh towels offered. They cleaned rooms at 8:00 am on our hall no offer to clean room, went and bought bathroom cleaner and we usedour beach towels the last day there. The indoor heated pool was ice cold, large bug found in the bathroom, wifi kept kicking me off line- I had almost finished a report an was kicked off line-I had to redo the report and it took me until 4 am to finish ad send it. Web site offered breakfast but upon arrival was told breakfast was $7.00- we went to ihop and had breakfast for $4.95. I asked upon arrival about a smoking room and was told I could change to a smoking room but it was a smaller room and it cost extra. As we arrived I had to wait as the clerk was on the phone and after her call she stated "that she would be with me in a minute beacuse he wants these numbers now". After attempting to get in the pool I called the front desk and I was told the water was 87 degrees and I expressed my other concerns listed and a younger gentleman basically said he did not know but he would have Shelia call me butI never heard fom her. I also called and asked for fresh towels and was told I could come to hedesk for them. That is not acceptable to me.
I had booked the room and when I arrived the sign had rooms half what I paid.

Staff were not the friendliest, house keeping came knocking at the doors 4 times before we checked out at 11, starting at 9am!
I Had 3 Room changes. All rooms smelled real bad of mold and mustiness. Toilet was dirty in the first. and the striker plate on the door was broken door shook and the seal around door was gone so therefore you could see out. The 2nd room mold musty dirty, also had the striker plate on the door broken but this door would not lock at all anyone could open it no key needed. The third room was clean but musty moldy and the ac would not shut off. I should get my money back. I would never recommend them to anyone.
I like the size of your rooms, however your hotel is in need of updating and cosmetic. Your hotel is nice; but please don't let the quality decrease because maybeone does not won't to invest.
I notice that the suite we stayed in did not have flat screen televisions.

only had fox news? and cnn. they say people who watch fox news are less informed that people who don't watch any news at all. i have walked out of businesses that had fox on a tv during their business day. i can't respect their intelligence nor their ability to service my needs as a customer. i would stay at your hotel again but look elsewhere first. i can't know that a conscious decision was made to ensure fox was available.
I loved my stay at Ashbury Inn. The room was very comfortable, especially the pillowtop mattreses. The hot breakfast was wonderful. Can't wait to visit Ashbury again!
The only problem I had with this Asbury was the odor in the game room.
Friendly staff. Clean. Comfortable beds. The room was standard outside but attendant noticed I had young daughter and gave complimentary upgrade to indoor room next to pool.
